Artes Medical Inc announces the preliminary record revenues of the second quarter 2008 sales of its ArteFill product, an FDA-approved non-resorbable dermal filler for the correction of smile lines.

Based on preliminary financial data, the company reports record sales of approximately $3.2 million for the second quarter of 2008, a 56% increase in sales from the second quarter of 2007 and a 93% increase in sales from the first quarter of 2008.

According to Christopher J. Reinhard, executive chairman at Artes Medical, the growth in ArteFill sales during the second quarter reflects the impact of the recently expanded 42-person sales force, the increasing consumer initiatives, and a growing acceptance of ArteFill by physicians.
